Metal Halide Lights have come into the 21st century with the introduction of a range pulse start lamp/ballast systems.
The new metal halide lighting systems produce a bright, white, natural-looking light and are used primarily for industrial and commercial applications, including warehouses, factories, sporting venues and landscape lighting.
What is Metal Halide Lighting (HID)?
HID stands for High Intensity Discharge, HID lights are different from your standard halogen bulbs; HID lights replace the original filament of a light bulb with a capsule of gas. It is commonly known as Metal Halide light bulb.
This form of Metal Halide Lighting is very efficient, producing three to five times more light than your typical Halogen light bulb, a HID 18 Watt bulb produces the same amount of light as your typical 55 Watt Halogen Light bulb.
A HID has a longer service life than your typical Halogen light bulb; lasting three to five times longer.
Metal Halide lighting has gone one step further and become "GREEN" there is a range now of dimmerable Metal Halide lights that consume less energy and therefore reduce energy costs. Not only saving you money but also Greenhouse gases and carbon emissions.
